Brucie From The Bilge.mp3
(4M)This is a parody of Greg Brown’s patriarchical ode “Billy from the Hills,” which I wrote about my dad, Bruce Dalzell, and his life in southeastern Ohio. This, incidentally, was the first of my compositions (using both the terms “my” and “composition” loosely) I ever performed live, and seemingly a fitting product of the American folk music tradition in which Greg and Bruce so strongly believe. “Sing it to me, Brucie.” --HD -
